ACADEMIC APPOINTMENTS AND TEACHING

One of my many passions is teaching. I have academic appoints at UCSF and UC Berkeley that allow me to teach graduate and medical students, residents, and post-doctoral fellows. For over 7 years, I have been teaching a semester course on sexual health promotion and STD control. As the clinical co-director of the California STD/HIV Prevention Training Center, I have developed curricula and conducted training for practicing providers based on national CDC guidelines for STD screening, diagnosis, and treatment. And along with our other clinical faculty, I provide ongoing technical assistance to local health jurisdictions and clinical consultation to healthcare providers throughout U.S. Public Health Service Region IX (California, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii and Pacific Island territories).
